Hello again wonderful students, Happy Monday! I really can’t get over how much I miss teaching you all. I was so thrilled to get some student emails last week with updates about your lives. I love hearing what you have been up to, big decisions about post-high school plans, and current political questions, so please keep them coming! Since it’s the start of a new week, you know that means…new AP Gov material! This week we are moving into one of my favorite subjects—civil liberties. This officially begins our final unit, and it consists of a bunch of super important REQUIRED Supreme Court cases. The plan for this week begins with an introduction to civil liberties and then an in-depth look at the First Amendment protections of religion, press, and speech. Throughout the class PowerPoint you will notice there are some additional cases that I think are interesting to explore, but only the cases in bold red are the required cases to know. On the website you will find a page on the “Resources by Unit” tab, called “Required Supreme Court Cases”. You should use these case descriptions to summarize each case in your KBAT notebook. They are also hyperlinked on the weekly plan. Feel free to email me with questions. A few other things:
