Take a deep breath! Unit 3 (Ch.8-9) test is done! Your multiple choice scores are up, but remember it is only half of the test, so no need to fret if you are unhappy with your score. These chapter tests are DETAILED, more so than the AP test will be but any of this info is fair game.
For tomorrow, make sure you have a current event ready. We will use the whole class period to discuss the Paris terror attacks, responses from the US, and any other news. Happy Friday. Unit 3 test will be Monday. KBAT's due Monday. Below you will find the PowerPoint for this unit and the review questions you used to write FRQ's today.
Finished up campaign finance today. Read Edwards pg. 318-323.
Today we began discussing the complicated system of campaign finance. Using your notes from class, Edwards pgs. 301-306, and this helpful link from the NY Times, please fill out the "Campaign Finance 101" chart.
Make sure you understand the differences between 527 groups, 501(c) groups, PACs and Super PACs. For more info about money in the 2016 election check out the following articles/interactive graphics. Don't forget to work on your KBAT's: Unit 3 Test will be MONDAY! Today we continued with the redistricting game. Be sure you understand the process of reapportionment & redistricting and how it can change the outcome of elections.
Homework:
This week we will cover voter turnout/voting behavior, redistricting, and begin looking at campaign finance.
Homework:
TGIF! Discussed the "Path to the Presidency" today. We will continue with campaigns and elections next week. Looking forward, I would expect a unit test around the 19th or 20th, so make sure you are keeping up on KBAT's!
Homework:
We began our discussion on primaries and caucuses today and will continue tomorrow. For homework tonight, begin reading Ch. 9 (pgs. 290-298). Also make sure you are keeping up on your KBAT's for Unit 3.
FOR QUIZ CORRECTIONS: 1. Question # you got wrong 2. Explanation of why the answer you chose was wrong (2-3 sentences) 3. Correct answer (actually write it/type it out, not just the letter answer)
FRQ's created by your classmates. Great resource for studying!
