Today we took the CH. 5 Civil Rights test. If you were absent, you should plan to take the test during class tomorrow.
We will begin our final "unit" tomorrow. Please remember to BRING YOUR TEXTBOOKS AND KBAT NOTEBOOKS! You will be getting started reading chapters 16-18 and working on a policy task. Today we finished up our unit on civil rights/civil liberties. We will have our Ch. 5 test tomorrow. As I mentioned in class, if you chose to do the KBATs for extra credit you can get either 5 assignment points or 2 points added to your multiple choice test. Today we discussed the African American civil rights movement and began discussing the federal government response with affirmative action programs. We will continue our discussion of affirmative action on Monday. If you for some reason didn't read the articles for HW last night please do so over the weekend!

Today we wrapped up our study of civil liberties by discussing the rights of the accused and the right to privacy. For tomorrow, make sure you have read Ch. 4, studied your case list, and looked over lecture notes. It will be helpful to know which cases protect which right and the Court's decision in the case. The cases that serve as a "landmark" decision are extra important to know. Homework:
